About this work
This plate from Unai no tomo shows two sash or obi designs, with a bold chrysanthemum crest surrounded by leaves and two small figures on the front panel, and a finely patterned reverse panel with floral motifs. Both are rendered in muted green, orange, and pink tones with black striped borders. The work is credited to Shimizu Seifū and dated 1913.
