About this work
A printed illustration of a fan with a wide, tapered leaf and a textured handle, shown against a pale ground. The fan face carries bold black calligraphic marks, stacked purple and green washes, and swirling grey and yellow shapes, with a decorated folding edge at lower right. This plate is from Unai no tomo, a work by Shimizu Seifū dated 1913.
