About this work
Two grey geese fly across a pale, misty sky, one with wings spread wide and the other trailing behind with outstretched neck and feet visible. A large pale full moon sits behind them, rendered in soft tones. This Japanese print by Ohara Koson, dated 1900 to 1930, shows the subtle layering of grey and muted colour typical of the artist's bird studies.
