About this work
This Japanese print by Kamisaka Sekka, titled Fishing Village (Ryoson) and dated 1909-1910, shows stilted wooden houses with brown thatched roofs beside a pale shoreline. Large white fishing nets rise in conical shapes across the foreground and against a deep blue sky, with a small rocky outcrop with green accents at right.
