About this work
An engraved print titled Gluttony, attributed to Jan Brueghel, shows several men sleeping on the ground beneath a large tree after a lavish meal. Scattered food, a roasted pig, fish, goblets and an open book lie around them, while a timber house and a distant river town appear in the background. Dutch verse is printed in the lower margin.
