About this work
A Japanese woodblock print shows a tall courtesan in an elaborate patterned kimono with a rooster design and a black robe decorated with cream panels bearing calligraphy, her hair dressed with long ornamental pins. A smaller child attendant in a blue patterned kimono stands beside her, and a second figure appears behind them.
