About this work
This Japanese woodblock print shows a moonlit night scene with a wooden bridge over a canal, boats at the water's edge, and a dark-clad figure with a drawn sword crouching near a building. A woman in a blue hood stands in the foreground beside two dogs, and a vertical red cartouche on the right bears the title characters.
