About this work
This woodblock print shows travelers walking along a dirt road lined with tall pine trees, with flat green fields stretching toward a line of distant houses and trees. The title Fukuroi appears in the upper left, and the series label and artist signature in the margins identify it as part of the Tokaido series by Utagawa Hiroshige, dated ca. 1841-1842.
