About this work
A Japanese woodblock print titled Chiriu, attributed to Utagawa Hiroshige and dated ca. 1841-1842. It shows travelers in blue robes and wide yellow hats on a road lined with large pine trees, while two figures sit on a mat at left and a man rests against a trunk at right. Flat fields and a pale pink horizon extend into the background.
