About this work
A rooster with a red comb and dark plumage stands on the left of a pale tan ground, with a hen or chick at its feet beside a branch of green leaves and pink flower spikes on the right. The bird is rendered in fine brushlines with soft grey shading, and a red seal and signature appear in the lower right. The print is attributed to Shiichi Tajima and dated 1903.
