About this work
A branch of red azalea blossoms extends across the left side of the composition, its green leaves rendered in soft washes. A dark ink-wash rock rises from the lower right, with small white blossoms growing from its edge, and a red seal and inscription appear in the upper right. The work is titled Azaleas, by Shiichi Tajima, and dates to 1903.
