A loose charcoal drawing shows a woman reclining with her eyes closed, her head resting on a pillow and one arm raised behind her. Her patterned garment and full, ruffled skirt are rendered with quick, feathery strokes, and the handwritten inscription 'Essai' with an artist's signature appears in the lower right. This print, titled Danseuse endormie, is attributed to Henri Matisse, dated 1926, and held by the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
