About this work

A stylized print shows a young woman with flowing red hair and a wreath of white roses, holding a bundle of roses at her waist beside a cluster of purple irises. A dark tree trunk and a pale blue-green landscape with bare branches frame the figure, and the printer's imprint Verdoux, Ducourtioux & Huillard appears at the lower edge. This is Eugène Grasset's 1893 print for the Exposition des artistes-décorateurs at the Grafton Gallery, London, held in the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
