About this work
A hand-colored lithographic print shows a standing man in a dark frock coat, vest, and bow tie, one hand resting on a small book atop a draped table. Green drapery with a gold tassel, a marble column, and a red upholstered chair frame the figure in a formal interior. The print bears the title Abraham Lincoln and a quotation beneath the image, with publisher imprints from Hartford and New York; it is dated 1860.
