About this work
A Japanese woodblock print in vivid blue, red and green shows a figure in a flowing red and blue kimono leaping between tall pine trunks above a mountain stream. Below, bird-beaked tengu creatures in patterned robes crouch and gesture, while a bearded seated figure in red robes watches from the left. The print is attributed to Utagawa Kuniyoshi and dated 1855.
