About this work
A woodblock print shows several figures in winter dress gathered around a fire at the base of snow-laden trees, with a pale waterfall-like band of snow or mist rising behind them. Calligraphic inscriptions appear in a cartouche at the upper right. The work is attributed to Katsushika Hokusai and dated ca. 1839.
