About this work
A color plate of six marine fish, numbered 1 through 6, arranged across the page on a pale background. The fish are rendered in silvery grays, olive tones and dark blue-black, with detailed fins, eyes and mouths. Several show elongated trailing fin filaments, and the plate is presented as a scientific illustration from Kumataro Ito's Nihon suisan doshokubutsu zushu.
