About this work
This plate shows six colorful tropical fish arranged across the page, including a surgeonfish, several batfish-like species with tall dorsal fins, and striped reef fish. The fish are rendered in muted blues, grays, and ochre tones with detailed fin and scale patterns, typical of a natural history illustration.
