About this work
A sepia-toned lithograph arranges oval portraits of American presidents around a central medallion of George Washington, framed by a laurel wreath and stars. Vignettes of military scenes, including the Battle of Bunker Hill, Washington Crossing the Delaware, the Defense of Fort Moultrie and the Battle of New Orleans, fill the corners. The print is titled Our Presidential Portrait Gallery, dated 1877, and attributed to the American Oleograph Co.
