About this work
A chromolithographed allegorical panel titled Centennial Mirror, dated 1776 and 1876 at the top beneath a spread eagle with a banner reading E Pluribus Unum. Its many framed vignettes show the progress of American life, including a log cabin, spinning, blacksmithing, farming, railroads, steamships, reapers, and sewing, with two soldiers standing at the left and right edges. The print was issued by the American Oleograph Co. and carries no date beyond the 1876 centennial reference.
