About this work
A woman in a richly patterned kimono bends forward beneath a cherry tree in full bloom, reaching toward a sheet of paper on the ground while petals drift through the air. The blue ground and wave lines suggest the water beyond. This Japanese woodblock print is attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III), dated 1844.
