About this work
A woodblock print shows a man in a striped kimono holding a tobacco pouch and pipe, with a katana at his waist. Behind him a river runs past a row of tiled-roof buildings, with boats moored on the water under a night sky and a moon. This Japanese print is attributed to Utagawa Kunisada (Toyokuni III) and dated 1850.
