About this work
A colour lithographic print by Samuel Ehrhart, dated 1906, arranged as a fan of seven scenes that trace a man's life from infancy to death. Factories, labelled bottles and tins, and a coffin along the lower edge reinforce the satirical theme of adulterated food and medicine.
