A colored print from 1905 by Samuel Ehrhart titled The rivals. A woman in a white gown, green jacket and plumed hat walks along a path strewn with rose petals, while a group of men in top hats and frock coats watch her, and a figure in a red jester costume with a feathered cap strides in from the right. Lilies, blossoming trees and a Gothic church with a street lamp frame the scene.
