About this work
A multi-panel color lithograph in the style of a comic-strip spread, with a central seated couple in a parlor surrounded by books and a bird-filled domestic scene. Eight vignettes around the border show a man in comic activities such as washing at a basin, fishing in a bathtub, playing croquet, eating while swarmed by flies, and sleeping in a feather bed. The work is attributed to Samuel Ehrhart and dated 1906.
