About this work

A caricature shows a bull-headed, crowned figure in a red sash labeled plutocratic greed, striding across a plowed field while scattering seeds labeled abuse of power, contempt of law, and arrogance from a sack. He carries a bucket shaped like the Capitol dome marked special privilege, and a small American flag lies trampled in the furrows. This Udo Keppler print from 1908 is held by the pdx collection.
