About this work
A colored political cartoon by Udo Keppler, dated 1902, shows three uniformed men in military-style dress recoiling and reaching toward a glowing winged chair labeled "Presidency" while a pale, cloaked figure with a raised hand blocks their path near a cliff edge. The print is a Puck Building lithograph, and the figures are rendered with exaggerated caricature features against a dark, luminous night landscape.
