About this work
A standing male figure in a white tunic and green mantle with gold geometric borders and roundel motifs is shown in a flat, stylized manner. A decorative cushion or ornament in red and blue is held at the shoulder, and the title and attribution appear in the lower right. The work is a print dated 1869 by Raphaël Jacquemin, reproducing a figure from a late eighth-century Italo-Roman mosaic in the Basilica of Santa Cecilia at the Catacombs of San Sisto in Rome.
