About this work
This page from Unai no tomo, plate 034, by Shimizu Seifū and dated 1913, shows a group of traditional Japanese toys including a bulb-headed doll on a stick, a kokeshi-style doll with a dark hairstyle, a seated figure in a purple robe, and a round pink toy with a painted floral motif. Handwritten Japanese captions identify each toy, and the color is applied with soft, flat washes over fine black linework.
