About this work
A Japanese woodblock print by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi titled Yūgao dana nōryō zu shows two seated women viewed from behind on a woven mat beside a wooden post. A gourd vine with pale white blossoms and large green leaves climbs above them, with a pale gourd hanging from it, while a ceramic kettle and tea bowl rest nearby. A vertical inscription panel in the upper right carries the title in calligraphy.
