About this work
A vertical exhibition poster with an ornate green foliate border and a circular vignette showing a stylized, geometric female profile in bright rainbow tones beside dark mechanical forms that suggest a printing press. Large red Japanese characters read Insatsu Bunka Tenrankai, with smaller text giving the sponsor and venue, and English lettering along the border reading Art Exposition and The Graphic Arts. The work is credited to Sugiyama Sueo and dated 1921.
