About this work
This print by Yamada Naosaburō, titled Bijutsukai, Pl.12 and dated 1900, shows stylized bamboo stalks and leaves in green, blue, brown, and cream against a dark background filled with fine silver-grey concentric wave lines. A pale lavender border decorated with cream fan motifs frames the central composition.
