About this work
A woodblock print in the Japanese style shows a snow-capped conical mountain rising above a calm, hazy sea. In the foreground, a small boat with two figures rides rippled blue water, while a figure and an ox-drawn cart travel along a grey shoreline path beside green coastal trees. This print is titled Fūkeiga, attributed to Katsushika Hokusai, and is held by the Portland Art Museum.
