About this work
A woodblock print shows a woman with an elaborate black updo and two hairpins, her gaze turned aside, beside an older bald man with a scowling expression and a green patterned kimono. A vertical column of calligraphy and a red-bordered cartouche reading Kyōkun Oya no Mekagami appear at the upper right and left.
