About this work
This engraved map-plate shows a wide range of military architecture, siege equipment, and artillery tools arranged across the sheet. A fortified city with a star-shaped bastion sits on a river bank beside a camp of tents and troops, while ships and sea monsters appear in the upper right. A decorative cartouche in the lower left carries the Dutch title, and compass roses mark the sea areas.
