About this work
A hand-colored bird's-eye map of the fortified town Rvraemvnda, known today as Roermond, shows its star-shaped walls, dense rows of red-roofed houses, and churches within a grid of streets. The Maas river curves along the left side, with boats and a smaller branch of the Roer winding through the lower right, and two coats of arms appear at the top. The print is dated 1709 and is attributed to Anna Beek.
