About this work
A hand-colored copperplate plan shows the fortified city and citadel of Ghent, with pink-shaded streets, star-shaped bastions and surrounding siege trenches marked by zigzag lines. A decorative cartouche in the upper right, framed by a draped pink cloth with putti, lists the keyed points of attack, and a scale bar appears in the lower right. The print is attributed to Anna Beek and dated 1709.
