About this work

This hand-colored engraved military plan shows the lines and encampments of the allied armies before the town and castle of Namur, with the Meuse river, woods, and fortified positions marked in red and pink. A large ornate cartouche at left features an allegorical figure with a crowned coat of arms and cherubs, while a legend in the lower right explains the lettered positions.
