About this work
This hand-colored copperplate plan shows the city and citadel of Turin as they were besieged by the French and delivered by the Duke of Savoy and Prince Eugene of Savoy, with the Po river curving through the scene. Dense fortifications, siege trenches, and tiny troop formations are set against hilly countryside, with a decorative cartouche and a numbered explanation key in the upper corners. The print is attributed to Anna Beek and dated 1709.
