About this work
This hand-colored engraved battle plan depicts the Battle of Höchstädt, showing troop lines, villages, and a river across the landscape. An allegorical female figure with a helmet and a crowned shield appears at the right, while mounted commanders and smoking cannons fill the upper left. The sheet is dated 1709 and attributed to Anna Beek.
