About this work
A hand-colored engraved view of the city of Nicaea shows a fortified hilltop citadel above a dense town along a river, with cultivated fields and ships on the water. Cherubs hold coats of arms at the top beneath a banner reading NICAEA CIVITAS, and a numbered key runs along the bottom. The print is dated 1709 and attributed to Anna Beek.
