About this work
A hand-colored copperplate map of the fortified town of Charleroy shows its star-shaped bastioned fortifications, numbered bastions, and surrounding moats and waterways. A flooded area occupies the left side, and a decorated cartouche with two cherubs and a scale bar appear in the corners.
