About this work
This hand-coloured map shows fortification lines and entrenchments in the Lys and Escaut region, with a detailed plan of a walled town in the upper left corner. The route of the red entrenchment line, marked with small redoubts, runs across fields, rivers and villages, and numbered keys with bilingual legends appear beneath each panel.
