About this work
A Japanese woodblock print shows two women in layered kimono standing on a shoreline, one in a black robe with a white undergarment and one in a lavender robe with white floral motifs. Behind them, fishermen in small boats work a long net stretched across choppy waves, with fish visible in the water. The print is titled Jibukiami, attributed to Toyokuni Utagawa, and dated 1799.
