About this work

A hand-coloured engraved map of the United States and Canada, with state boundaries outlined in pastel colours and a decorative border. Canals, rail roads, telegraph lines and stage routes are drawn across the territories, and a smaller inset map shows Oregon, California and New Mexico. The map was drawn by Henry A. Burr and published by J. Disturnell in 1850.
