About this work
A hand-colored print titled The Meadow, attributed to Fritz Sonderland and dated 1888, shows a rural pasture scene. Cows and goats graze near a stream while workers load hay onto a horse-drawn wagon, and a village with a church steeple sits in the distance. Children play and rest in the foreground, with a shepherd and a small roadside shrine at the right.
