About this work
A hand-colored print titled The field, attributed to Fritz Sonderland and dated 1888, shows a rural harvest scene. Figures dig and gather potatoes in the foreground while women fill baskets and sacks, and children fly a kite nearby. A village with windmills, a church spire and a signpost lies in the background.
