About this work
A hand-colored lithograph showing a busy town marketplace with stalls selling vegetables, pottery, potted plants and sausages. Gothic church towers and a pointed-arch hall frame the scene, with women, children and men in nineteenth-century dress moving among the vendors. The print is credited to A. Toller and dated 1875.
