About this work
This porcineograph is a chromolithographic map of the United States in which the states and territories are depicted through a dense border of pigs, heraldic state shields, and food-themed vignettes. A central panel carries the title and explanatory text, and a band of anthropomorphic hogs feasting appears across the top. The work is credited to Forbes Co. and dated 1876.
