About this work
This mezzotint-style print shows a seated man with white hair in a dark coat and white cravat, one hand resting on a draped table beside a sheet of paper and the other on his lap. A classical column and dark drapery form the shadowed backdrop, and a small engraved vignette of a columned building appears below the image. The print is titled Thomas Jefferson, published by A.W. Elson & Co. in 1897.
